About The Position

Under the direction of the Section Chief in the Data Research and Reporting Section, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) will perform, and lead assignments related to the Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP) efforts, and other Early Start related activities. This includes analyzing data sets related to the Annual Performance Report (APR), coordinating interagency meetings, interacting with stakeholders, acting as an SSIP community liaison for Regional Centers and Family Resource Centers, and performing a variety of analytical tasks related to California's Early Start program. The incumbent will also be responsible for drafting and interpreting policies and regulations related to the Early Start program as well as related services for individuals with developmental disabilities. May act as lead staff on various projects for the Data Research and Reporting Section. Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave. You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement. Under Government Code 14200, this position is a hybrid, in-office/telework position, and may be subject to change. Incumbent can be required to report to the office, or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time. Incumbent must live and work in California. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate. This position requires lawful authorization to work in the United States. The Department does not sponsor employment visas for this position. This position is a hybrid, in-office/telework position, and may be subject to change. Incumbent can be required to report to the office, or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified and/or cancelled at any time. Work requires the use of a computer 65-85 percent of time. Daytime and overnight statewide travel may be required to local programs within California for meetings and technical assistance.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of: Part C of IDEA, the Lanterman Act, California's Early Start program, and developmental disabilities service system; the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite programs (including Word, Teams, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, Windows 11 and other software. As well as have knowledge in state and federal laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to the successful performance and completion of job duties.
  • The incumbent will have the skills to be able to work independently and in a team environment.
