About The Position

Lead the Department's business continuity function, collaborate, develop and maintain continuity plans and ensure proper testing, training, and exercise schedules are executed. Study the State requirements, resources, and best practices to develop and continuously improve DFW continuity planning efforts. Develop, document, and maintain organizational plans through collaboration and internal partnerships. Serves as the lead in completing the State Leadership Accountability Act (SLAA) for the Department to ensure the process is implemented effectively to reduce organizational risk. Collaborate with program staff across the Department to gather key risk assessment information, develop mitigation strategies, and prepare biannual reports documenting risk management efforts. Coordinate with other Health and Safety team members and Regional program contacts to maintain pre-incident facility preparedness documentation for emergency events at a site and Regional level. Maintains resources on preparedness, conducts consultations with site contacts, and distributes information to leadership Department-wide. Manages databases to update facility and asset information, emergency contact information, and site preparedness plans for sites through regular solicitation and work with Regional contacts. Answers questions and provides guidance on how to complete, maintain and store site documents. Collaborate with other analysts in the ROM Unit to establish and ensure consistent and interconnected policy department wide, review policy, update and improve the DFW Operations Manual, and develop and maintain business forms. Participate in external professional meetings to represent DFW and remain current in the fields of policy development and program management, risk management, business continuity, and to continuously monitor industry trends.

  • Knowledge and experience with risk identification, assessment, and mitigation concepts
  • Ability to demonstrate experience clearly framing a problem and collecting the necessary data to develop and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations for action
  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to communicate and present research and analytical findings to a variety of audiences whether in person, in front of a large group, or in writing
  • Ability to work in team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
