About The Position

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Education Programs, State Operated Facilities Division, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) serves as a technical program consultant and subject matter expert supporting the department's education programs, including special education, adult education, and career technical education (CTE). The AGPA provides expert-level support in program oversight, grant compliance, fiscal management, contract administration, and coordination with the California Department of Education (CDE) and Department of State Hospitals (DSH) to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures governing education programs in State Operated Facilities. Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave. This position is eligible for geographic retention pay differential of $250.00 per month. You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement.

Requirements

  • You will find the Minimum Requirements in the Class Specification.
  • If you are using list eligibility from an on-line exam to qualify for this position, you MUST include with your application any documentation (i.e., copy of transcript, degree, license, etc.) to verify meeting the MQ's or you may not be considered for the position.
  • The MQs will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined that an applicant does not meet the MQs of the classification, the applicant may not be considered and withheld from the eligible list.

  • Knowledge of: The incumbent should have Knowledge of the provisions of IDEA, Part B, WIOA, Title II, CEC, Title 5 CCR, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Lanterman Act (WIC). The incumbent should also have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e.: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) and organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to: Reason logically and utilize a variety of analytical techniques to resolve ideas and information effectively both orally and in writing; consult with and advise administrators or other interested parties; gain and maintain the confidence and cooperation of those contacted during the course of work; review and edit written reports; and establish and maintain project priorities.
