About the position

The Health Facilities Compliance Surveyor plays a crucial role in supporting the California Department of Public Health's mission by conducting program analysis activities in health facilities. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal licensing and certification requirements, focusing on the enforcement of laws, rules, and regulations related to health facility operations, policies, and procedures. The role involves extensive travel and may include a hybrid telework schedule, requiring in-person reporting to the designated headquarters office.

Responsibilities

• Perform program analysis activities in health facilities to determine compliance with state and federal licensing and certification requirements.
• Enforce state and federal laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to health facility operations, policies, and procedures.
• Evaluate contractual agreements, supplies, personnel, and non-clinical related services of health facilities.
• Conduct inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with the California Code of Regulations and Health and Safety Code.
• Collaborate with Health Facilities Evaluator Nurse staff during site visits.

Requirements

• Experience in program analysis or compliance evaluation in health facilities.
• Knowledge of state and federal health facility regulations and standards.
• Ability to conduct inspections and assessments effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
