Are you great with people and have willingness to work hard to get the job done? Parsons is seeking a candidate with a desire to enhance the fabric of our community. Role: Under close supervision, performs a variety of geological and field tasks by applying basic geological techniques and analyses. The Geologist at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained in the utilization of relevant geological and/or hydrogeological theories and practices, and gaining exposure to Company procedures. Some assignments involve the use of computer software applications (e.g., spreadsheets, CAD, aquifer test analysis, etc.). Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected. This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field and typically 0+ years of related work experience.
  • Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected.
  • This position requires a Fit for Duty exam as part of the job requirements. Successful completion of this exam(s) will be required post offer acceptance, prior to you being able to continue in the hiring process and onboarding.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with software packages typically used in geological analyses is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic geological principles and fundamental theories.
  • Applies available data pertinent to geology and/or hydrogeology, accurately describing and classifying soil and rock samples.
  • Provides technical guidance for stratigraphic and groundwater drilling programs.
  • Conducts soil, surface water, groundwater, and sediment sampling programs.
  • Assists in geological mapping and in performing basic geologic analyses.
  • Assists in geologic report preparation, including preparation of cross sections and compilation of environmental sample analyses.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
