About The Position

The Associate General Counsel will provide legal guidance and support various aspects of the organization including managing legal risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and delivering strategic legal advice to support business objectives. This position reports to the Senior Vice President - General Counsel & Secretary in the Denver, office.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively converse with all levels of the company, customers, business associates.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional integrity and accountability.
  • Work in fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Active membership in good standing with a state bar association.
  • Proven experience as an Associate General Counsel or in a similar senior-level legal role.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with a state bar association.
  • 10+ years’ corporate legal experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to the organization on a wide range of legal matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect the organization's interests.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks across various business operations.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide proactive advice.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage and oversee external counsel relationships, ensuring effective and cost-efficient legal representation.
  • Support the organization in handling disputes, litigation, and regulatory inquiries, providing strategic legal advice and representation as needed.
  • Maintain respectful and productive working relationships within and across all work groups, ensuring effective collaboration and cooperation.

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned to support the success of the department and company

  • This position is eligible for a 9/80 hybrid work schedule after 30-days of employment. Work is performed at office on Tuesdays through Thursdays, remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
