About The Position

InGenesis is currently seeking an Associate General Counsel to work with our client. In this role, you will provide legal advice and services across a wide range of areas, including employment, contracts, student matters, governance, civil rights, policy development, litigation, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 7 years as a licensed attorney with experience in contracts, employment law, constitutional law, and litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas laws related to higher education and procurement.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in contract drafting and employment law.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel on issues related to higher education and University operations.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare opinions or memoranda.
  • Draft, review, and interpret University policies and procedures.
  • Review and negotiate contracts with internal stakeholders.
  • Handle subpoenas and public information requests under Texas law.
  • Represent the University in administrative hearings and investigations.
  • Support litigation and discovery processes in coordination with the Texas Attorney General's Office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support University priorities.
