About The Position
Truist is hiring for an Associate General Counsel that will maintain strong, productive relationships with key internal clients while serving as a trusted legal advisor, legal risk manager, and business partner. Serve as a technical expert in particular area(s) of specialization. Support Mortgage and HELOC lines of business with Originations activities, including Agency loans, Portfolio loans, Construction/Perm Lending and Assumptions, and including Correspondent Mortgage Lending activities. Partner with Compliance and Risk partners in guiding Originations teams through change management and product development, responding to internal- or external- identified issues, responding to consumer complaints and participating in exam responses. Support Mortgage in FNMA/FHLMC Investor relationship. Guide team supporting originations activities through loan-closing specific legal questions, around execution requirements, Trusts, POAs, title encumbrances. This team member will work with federal regulations surrounding real-estate secured lending, including SAFE Act, Reg Z, ATM/QM, RESPA 8, TRID, Flood insurance and Appraisal rules, HMDA, ECOA, FCRA, as well as comparable state law requirements. Should also have working knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC dynamic.
