About The Position

Coinbase is hiring an Associate General Counsel, Institutional to guide its institutional business and shape how securities laws apply to digital assets. This senior legal role will oversee compliance with SEC and FINRA rules, advise on broker-dealer activities, and partner with product and executive teams on new product development in crypto markets. In this role, you’ll manage regulatory inquiries and examinations, draft and evolve compliance policies, and train executives and teams on securities law obligations. You’ll serve as the point of contact for regulators, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to accelerate business initiatives, and develop strategies that balance legal risk with innovation.

Requirements

• 12+ years of legal experience as a securities attorney.
• Deep broker-dealer expertise.
• Strong project management skills.
• Track record advising executives on regulatory and transactional matters.
• Experience with the SEC, FINRA, or active broker-dealers.
