PSE's Gas Operations team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Associate Gas Controller position! Specific details regarding the work arrangements for this position will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.Job DescriptionGas Control is responsible for the safe, reliable delivery of natural gas to our customers. An Associate Gas Controller will monitor the pipeline systems in real time, support field operations, and help maintain system integrity across PSE’s gas distribution network. This role offers the opportunity to build a stable energy career within a critical infrastructure industry. PSE offers structured, on the job training and the ability to work in a professional control room environment where precision and teamwork matter. Gas Control is a 24/7 operations team. The Associate Gas Controller will need the ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. After completion of training, the Associate Gas Controller will work rotating shifts. This position may be subject to random DOT drug and/or alcohol testing. Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Operator Qualified (OQ) gas controller within 2 years.
  • Demonstrated skills with MS Office suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer sciences or related field.
  • Experience in operations monitoring, dispatch, utilities, pipeline, or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with SCADA or other control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor gas distribution systems using SCADA and related control systems.
  • Analyze and respond to pressures, flows, and alarms to ensure system integrity.
  • Learn and develop knowledge load forecasting.
  • Manages and reviews alarm database for accuracy and proper safety related settings.
  • Document system events and operational changes accurately.
  • Supports, troubleshoots and advice on energy control staff with upgrades to the gas SCADA system.
  • Assist with emergency response coordination.
  • Once operator qualified, work staggered 24/7 schedule to monitor and control the gas distribution system.
  • Provide shift coverage as needed to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
