About The Position

We’re looking for an Associate, Fund Tax to join our Principal Asset Management team. In this role, you'll be responsible for performing day-to-day fund tax accounting activities for mutual funds and other investment entities. Duties include reviewing holdings and income, running reports from the accounting system for analysis, calculating dividend and capital gain distributions, assisting with financial statement audits, working with external auditors and other service providers, and reviewing US and foreign tax filings. Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring all activities performed are completed in compliance with established regulatory and internal control procedures and guidelines. Assist with mutual fund tax compliance, including asset diversification, gross income testing, tax return reporting, required distribution calculations, year-end 1099 reporting, EU and tax treaty reclaims, and financial statement tax information. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; strong preference towards a bachelor's degree in accounting with exposure to tax, finance, or other analytical course work.
  • Regulated Investment Company experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, time management, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to work independently and ask thoughtful questions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products preferred.
  • Ability to learn systems and applications used within the firm required.

Responsibilities
