About The Position

The Associate Fund Accountant will join the Credit & Structured Products team at Alter Domus, focusing on the management and accounting of portfolios containing syndicated bank loans. This role involves gaining expertise in portfolio accounting principles, utilizing loan servicing software, and ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting for clients. The position emphasizes collaboration with internal and external parties to address client inquiries and maintain data integrity across systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or economics preferred.
  • Basic understanding of loan operations and loan securitization principles.
  • General financial accounting knowledge and customer service experience.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage ambiguity.
  • Responsive, friendly, professional, and highly organized with superb communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with Bloomberg and other loan research tools is an advantage.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to thrive in a high-volume data-entry environment.
  • Demonstrated willingness to work within a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Input, review, analyze, and record-keep portfolios of syndicated bank loans.
  • Gain expertise in relevant Loan Servicing software and internal accounting platforms.
  • Liaise with external parties and cooperate with internal account management teams to respond to credit client inquiries.
  • Process all life cycle events for portfolios containing multiple asset types.
  • Create, review, and distribute reconciliations and customized daily/monthly reporting to clients.
  • Update client portfolios with custom post-trade attributes and vendor data.
  • Oversee data flow and comparison between systems to validate daily portfolio level output.
  • Interact effectively with internal and external parties including Loan Admin, Fund Admin, Technology, Asset Services, Recon, Trade Settlement, Trustees, and Agent Banks.
