About The Position
The Coleman Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship primary responsibilities will be to provide strong research and curricular leadership for our entrepreneurship programs, including graduate degree programs (MBA, MS, and Doctorate in Business Administration) and undergraduate major and minor degree offerings, interface with the Coleman Center and its stakeholders, and cultivate and maintain effective relationships with internal advisory boards and Chicago's thriving entrepreneurship ecosystem. Other responsibilities may include providing guidance to doctoral students pursuing research in the field of entrepreneurship. The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship houses a diverse, multi-disciplinary and research-active faculty who support undergraduate and graduate programs in entrepreneurship, business analytics, human resource management, general management, supply chain management, and sustainability management. Management and Entrepreneurship faculty research has appeared in top-ranked journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Venturing, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice. Both the graduate and undergraduate entrepreneurship programs were nationally ranked in the top-20 by The Princeton Review. The department is also home to the Coleman Center for Entrepreneurship, which received the 2023 Nasdaq Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence. A number of active student groups, including a chapter of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization, are affiliated with the department.
