About The Position

The Division of Cardiology, McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, invites applications for a full-time faculty position (1.0 FTE) at the Associate or Full Professor level. We are seeking a nationally recognized physician-scientist or clinician-educator with expertise in advanced cardiovascular imaging, particularly cardiac CT and MRI, to join our growing imaging and heart failure/transplant programs.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Cardiology or Radiology with fellowship training in advanced cardiovascular imaging (CT/MRI).
  • Academic rank at Associate or Full Professor level, commensurate with experience.
  • Significant experience in cardiac imaging related to heart failure, cardiomyopathy, or transplantation is preferred.
  • Eligible for Texas medical licensure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong potential for a leadership role within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret advanced cardiovascular imaging studies (CT and MRI) across UTHealth Houston-affiliated sites.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists, radiologists, and surgeons.
  • Lead or support research initiatives in cardiovascular imaging, especially within heart failure and transplant domains.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and imaging trainees.
  • Contribute to academic and clinical program development through imaging protocol optimization, quality improvement, and service line expansion.
  • Serve in departmental leadership roles and contribute to strategic initiatives in imaging.
  • Promote financial and operational efficiencies in imaging services.
