About The Position

This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the Nutrition Division. As a part of the Global Supply Chain Finance organization, this role provides global market analysis and negotiation support to Abbott Agriculture and Nutrition Purchasing Category spend. This position must stay well-versed on macro + micro economic trends and their impact on material costs. The position will have the authority to update systems, assemble detailed spend analyses from various global locations, update Sr. level financial personnel, issue reports (up to CFO), and modify long range project plans based on various analyses and research.

Requirements

• BA / BS required in economics, finance, mathematics or business.
• Minimum of 2 years in Finance or Purchasing / Sourcing related experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed spend analysis on key categories of spend regionally.
• Conduct comprehensive market research on particular commodity markets.
• Establish critical financial targets for commodity pricing + Purchase Price Variance (PPV) performance.
• Update Abbott systems to reflect appropriate variables for financial cycles.
• Be the resident expert on all electronic system applications such as Essbase and Qlikview.
