About The Position
About the Position The Fire Alarm Systems Associate Designer is the subject matter expert for fire alarm design and installation. As the Fire Alarm Systems Associate Designer, you’ll work out of our corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida, reviewing original layouts and drawings and interpreting them for the project’s requirements and code compliance. Position Details / Responsibilities Coordinate the best design solution by applying industry knowledge and quality standards while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements. Provide technical assistance for multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting, and construction. Provide design direction, support, and guidance to all team members. Communicate effectively with customers, project team members, and inspecting authorities. Here’s What We’re Looking For Three (3) or more years of experience with fire alarm system design. Experience with fire alarm equipment and installation, as well as some fire alarm design fundamentals; bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction-related field preferred. A detail-oriented, quality driven designer with a NICET certification and an understanding of fire alarm design including high-density, high-rise, and smoke control. Knowledge of local codes and construction safety requirements (including IBC and IECC) required. A quick learner interested in design fundamentals for fire alarm systems with some AutoCAD/Revit experience and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. A team player who acts with customers in mind and thrives in a constantly changing and evolving environment.
