About The Position

Prepares economic, financial or statistical research and analysis for use in the development of business strategies and tactics. Has excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of different financial and analytical techniques, and the capability to plan own work and meet deadlines. Job Description Under general supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to prepare financial metrics and professionally report to management. Guidance is provided to perform varied, complex reporting functions with responsibility for making non-routine decisions. Evaluation, originality and ingenuity are required to locate, select, apply and justify appropriate action for situations and circumstances that require a deviation from standard procedures. Resolves moderately complex problems. Regular contact with internal customers is required to identify, research, and resolve cost allocation issues.

Requirements

  • Financial Reporting concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Basic accounting principals
  • Advanced skills in Excel including knowledge of complex formulas and managing large data sets
  • Analyzing financial information.
  • Performing mathematical calculations.
  • Preparing surveys.
  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Implement changes to standard procedures when required by specific situations and circumstances.
  • Work independently, make non-routine decisions and resolve moderately complex accounting problems.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels.
  • Organize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in accounting or finance and up to two (2) years experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares firm economic models to assist in advisor recruiting decisions
  • Prepares compensation pro-formas for recruited advisors as well as internal transfers and advisors exploring other compensation options
  • Prepares management reports in a format that can be quickly reviewed by management.
  • Identifies costs and develops methodology for accurate allocation across the organization.
  • Prepares organization-wide surveys using various financial tools and resources and reviews results with management.
  • Reviews, evaluates and implements process improvements, as appropriate.
  • Identifies potential impact of new departments, subsidiaries, products and other changes on job responsibilities
  • Coordinates with management on the presentation and preparation of internal management reports that can be quickly reviewed by management.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
