About The Position

AFG is seeking an established and successful Associate Financial Adviso r to join our financial planning team. This role offers the opportunity to meet directly with clients while keeping financial planning skills current, along with mentorship from Partner Advisors and the support of a long-tenured team of planning and administrative professionals. Exceptional client service skills, a strong team mentality, and a solid cultural fit are essential. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the ability to develop referrals from existing client relationships and have a proven history of acquiring new clients. This position offers a remote/hybrid schedule, with two in-office days per week at our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania location. A typical day will include a mix of the following duties and responsibilities: Financial Planning: Develop financial planning reports using various types of financial software and tools. Compile, enter, and maintain relevant financial information from internal systems and third-party sources. Propose, develop, and implement new financial planning tools, exhibits, and software to enhance planning quality and efficiency. Review financial planning reports for accuracy and perform comprehensive analyses to determine strategies and actions that are of economic benefit to clients Summarizes and interprets investment assets, trusts, wills, estate and legal documents, retirement and pension plans, employee benefits, insurance policies, tax returns, and other financial information as appropriate. Analysis and Research: Maintains knowledge of current industry issues pertaining to financial and tax planning, investment management, and reporting. Analyze financial planning reports to form logical conclusions based on economic principals. Assist in developing financial planning recommendations that deliver measurable value to clients. Client Service: Along with senior advisor, attends and participates in client meetings at various stages in the client life cycle. Takes detailed meeting notes, enter documentation into the CRM, and complete or assign follow-up tasks as needed. Provides personal, attentive service to current and prospective clients. Leverage existing client relationships to generate referral business while actively pursuing new client opportunities

Requirements

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a financial planning and/or investment consulting environment, with significant client interaction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with CRM systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • A high level of initiative, follow-through, and accountability.
