At Boeing, the BGS teams in JB Charleston, SC, are seeking an Electronic and Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer to become part of C-17 Engineering Team in JB Charleston, SC. The selected candidate will provide embedded USAF Field and Product Review Engineering support. This position performs and represents Boeing C-17 Engineering as an integral part of a multi-disciplined team in conjunction with the C-17 GLOBEMASTER 3 SUSTAINMENT CONTRACT (G3). Our teams are currently hiring for multiple experience levels including Career and Expert Level for the EE Field Engineer-CHS. Position Responsibilities: Apply knowledge of Boeing C-17 design and engineering principles to assess and resolve operational issues through the aircraft’s lifecycle Apply engineering principles and experience to research technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer Develop and release interim and permanent engineering dispositions to ensure aircraft airworthiness and overall operational safety and effectiveness Use innovative approaches and unique applications to solve complex nonconforming conditions. Identify, document, and analyze reported problems and communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety. Provide design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews. Coordinate activities for on-site disabled aircraft repair / recovery teams, safety or accident investigation boards, and aircraft maintenance recovery teams. Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Develop and implement technical training curriculum for internal and external customers. Develop and implement product / process improvements. This is a technical position at a USAF base requiring independence and technical acumen. Travel to other operating locations to assist with operation, maintenance, and recovery of aircraft may be required. Repair and troubleshoot aircraft electrical, electronic, and avionics systems with MIL-STD-1553B and ARINC 429 data bus architecture. Frequent interaction with Active Military personnel. Perform all cyber security functions located on location. Interaction with C-17 SPO engineering personnel (all levels). Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills Experience with data analytics and various methods Strong customer focus (both external and internal). A collaborator and innovator. Have a “can-do” attitude and the ability to work on multiple tasks when under pressure Flexible approach to resolving competing demands without compromising technical or programmer integrity The ability to analyze data, and data management Able to work overtime and work a flexible schedule including but not limited to a possible rotating weekend coverage schedule Able to work in high tempo environment. Must be willing to work any shift Must be able to function in a demanding on-call, around-the-clock environment This position requires an active U.S. SECRET Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months, is considered active. Travel: Ability to travel 20 to 30% to support aircraft emergent issues or recovery for a few days to a few weeks and/or working groups and events. Travel to other C-17 Depot or Operational base locations may be required.
