Qualifications POSITION SUMMARY This position will support Goodwill Industries of San Antonio in maintaining all interior and exterior buildings in a hazard/safe-free environment. Perform general building maintenance to include: light carpentry, basic electrical, paint and general maintenance activities. Support the organization in its mission to help change lives through the power of work.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months experience in general facility maintenance. 1 year experience preferred.
  • Must be able to operate hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to work a variety of hours to include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Manager in prioritizing work to be completed on daily or weekly basis.
  • Inspect the physical structure of the buildings for safety, hazards and report to the Manager.
  • Complete work orders to ensure proper documentation of assignments.
  • Maintain interior of building, such as lobbies, offices and other areas as requested.
  • Perform repairs to physical structure using hand tools, such as screwdriver, etc.
  • Inform appropriate personnel of irregularities and possible problems in a timely manner.
  • Enhance safety program by following all Federal, State, OSHA and agency safety requirements; wear safety equipment; follow the use of chemicals and equipment according to the manufacturer’s directions; attend required training.
  • Comply with all occupational safety programs and procedures.
  • Dispose of trash and unusable merchandise into designated container and dispose in an appropriate manner.
  • Keep work-site free from debris; remove obstructions from permanent aisles and inform manager of possible safety hazards in a timely manner.
  • Enhance the physical appearance of the work-site by painting.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all tools, equipment and materials at all times.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.
