The Associate Fabricator fabricates the orthoses and prostheses to provide maximum fit, function, cosmetics and workmanship. The Associate Fabricator will have on the job training as well as formal O&P Training i.e., LMS and other training provided by leadership. Through this training you will be expected to maintain tools, equipment, materials, and following work instructions per device in your work area. Your Impact Perform fabrication of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices, according to Company quality and quantity standards. May assist or perform in ordering and receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned. Maintain 5s to ensure for a safe, clean and orderly work environment. Adhere to all safety regulations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements. Adhere to all HIPPA and other regulatory compliance training issued by Hanger, Inc.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; no experience required.
  • Knowledge and hand skills needed to fabricate and repair prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (orthopedic braces) according to specifications.
  • Mechanical ability and hand-eye coordination to use laboratory tools safely and effectively.
  • Effective organizational, time management and planning skills.
  • Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communicating with others.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
  • Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment.
  • Has little or no role in decision making.
  • Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
  • Works under close supervision.
  • Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • less than 1 year of related experience working within environments that include: machinery, tools, wood working, design, fabrication, componentry, etc. –OR- Without diploma/GED, 1 year of related experience working within O&P environments that include: machinery, tools, design, fabrication, componentry, etc.
