This commitment fosters trust, high standards, and personal development. The Belletini community in Bellevue, WA, is seeking an Associate Executive Director (AED). This is a strategic, hands-on leadership development role for a high-potential leader. Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director (ED), the AED supports day-to-day operations and actively prepares to assume full responsibility for the overall management and direction of the community. This includes ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local, and licensing regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. The AED is crucial for driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and championing a culture of compassion and resident-centered care, all while embodying MBK values.

Requirements

  • Must possess current State/Federal administrator’s and other licenses/certifications in good standing (including completion of required training and passing state exam) and maintain by completing necessary continuing education hours (CEUs) to manage a community.
  • Must meet required minimum education units or degree or specific certification/license requirements, based on community size and state requirements.
  • Must meet minimum required years of management experience in a healthcare field providing residential care to the elderly, based on community size and state requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must complete required Background clearances, health screening and provide negative TB test results within 7 days of employment (must be within the last 6 months).
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and valid insurance or reliable method of transportation.
  • Must have solid pc skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and office equipment (e.g., scanners, copiers, and fax machines).
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to speak, write and read English and must be comfortable explaining complex ideas and information to large groups and a wide audience with varying levels of understanding.
  • Must demonstrate sound judgement and the ability to make informed decisions when circumstances warrant, and remain calm and effectively manage conflict, stressful or emergency situations prioritizing the safety and well-being of the community.
  • Must possess the ability to anticipate potential risks, develop effective contingency plans, and maintain extreme discretion and confidentiality with all information/data.
  • Must possess the ability to always deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, and guests.
  • Must not be considered an “Excluded Party” as defined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, any state Medicaid Programs, and any additional federal and state government contract programs.
  • Must continually comply with certain laws and regulations that impact the company, including, but not limited to, as applicable, state licensing regulations, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), Resident Rights as defined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and any other federal or state laws relating to team members’ professional licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the recruitment and hiring efforts and direct and indirect supervision of all Department Directors, providing coaching for development, setting performance timelines, and monitoring goal achievement, under the direction of the Executive Director.
  • Make recommendations to the Executive Director on Team Member performance, pay rates/increases, disciplines and terminations ensuring they are fair, consistent and in compliance with company policies and all state and federal laws.
  • Lead the onboarding and mentoring of new Department Directors, ensuring rapid integration into the community's operational standards and cultural values.
  • Assume Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities and serve as the delegated operational and administrative authority, responsible and accountable for directing the management and control of the property, under the direction of the Executive Director.
  • Support and cover department head duties during department head absences through delegation or personal completion working in conjunction with a designated Manager on Duty for those times the Executive Director is not on the property.
  • Assist the ED in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and directing daily community operations and executing delegated strategic initiatives, ensuring full and consistent compliance with all federal, state, local, and licensing regulations, and established MBK policies.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the comprehensive strategic plan to achieve goals related to occupancy, financial performance, and resident satisfaction.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational data, escalating urgent issues and mobilizing resources to mitigate risks and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with department directors to assist in correcting problem areas, improve service to residents, assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, and establish rapport in and among departments.
  • Regularly engage with residents and families to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure that residents can attend activities and community programs/events, arranging transportation when necessary, and that their physical, mental, and emotional needs align with their level of care and community licensure.
  • Support the ED in financial management, including assisting with budget control, expenditure approval, and maintaining accurate financial records (e.g., billing and accounts payable); preparing and submitting timely monthly reports (move-out data) and invoice information to the Corporate office, and preparing rent increase letters, leases, or other official communications for residents, as directed.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales on sales plan execution, property promotion, market outreach, and the implementation of referral programs and other occupancy strategies, including assisting with the contract signing with new residents or resident transfers.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment by overseeing physical property and facility maintenance needs, promoting safety protocols, supporting the management of workers’ compensation claims investigations and safety complaints, ensuring a secure environment for all team members, residents, and guests in compliance with OSHA requirements and established safety policies, practices and plans.
  • Promote a positive, professional community image by modeling outstanding conduct and lead with a spirit of teamwork and open communication through consistent mentoring, coaching and recognition program utilization, in alignment with MBK principles and core values.
  • Perform other job duties or special projects as assigned and requested by Supervisor or designee.
