Under the supervision of the Chief Volunteer Officer and/or the Executive Director/CEO, and in cooperation with YMCA staff, the Associate Executive Director will help give overall leadership to the Aquatics, Youth, Healthy Living and Member Experience Departments of the Goldsboro Family YMCA. They are charged with daily operations of the YMCA and building strong relationships with members, volunteers, and participants. They will be responsible for managing such functions in accordance with the stated mission and policies established by the Board of Directors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides high-level vision, consultation, and leadership to the Youth, Aquatics, Healthy Living and Member Engagement Departments; planning and directing, in conjunction with related staff – serving all aspects of the YMCA community and ensuring that those programs met the needs of the community and the mission of the YMCA. Supervises the Aquatics Director ensuring that all aquatic programs and property and facilities meet the expectations of the Board of Directors. Supervises Member Engagement Director, supporting and leading all aspects of Welcome Center, Family Programs, Volunteers, and Healthy Living. Supervises Youth/Sports Director, supporting and all aspects of SACC Youth and Sports Programs. Inspires, leads, directs, supports, educates, and coaches all Departments – modeling relational engagement and ensuring quality program delivery; as well as being a visible presence throughout all programs/facility/campus. Develops, coordinates, and manages all aspects of the adult, youth program, and operational budgets. Leads a major role in the Annual Campaign and branch efforts with volunteer recruitment and retention for the campaign. Responsible for key high-profile volunteer discovery, cultivation, recruitment, and support. Actively participates with the Board of Directors as needed and interfaces with the community at large on behalf of the YMCA. Promotes the YMCA to the community through internal and external marketing plans. Interfaces with the community on behalf of the YMCA through participation in community activities. Responsible for the Leadership Engagement Team schedule and management. Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, providing high level leadership, vision, support, and professionalism for a team full-time and part-time staff. Ability to obtain upon hire certifications in CPR, First Aid, Emergency Oxygen. All certifications must stay current while employed with the YMCA.
