About The Position

The Associate Executive Director of Facilities Management Support Services at NYC Health + Hospitals is responsible for overseeing various operational aspects including Facilities Management, Support Services, Construction/Capital Management, and Engineering. This role requires effective management of multiple requests in a clinical and construction-oriented environment, ensuring collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Requirements

  • A Master's Degree in Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration, Administrative Medicine, or Public Health from an accredited institution.
  • Six years of high-level responsible experience in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent fields.
  • Thorough knowledge of hospital organization, administration, standards, regulations, and laws applicable to hospital operations.
  • Ability to direct and supervise personnel effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, establish, and implement the philosophy, objectives, policies, and standards of administrative services related to Facilities Management Support Services.
  • Collaborate with all levels of the organization to coordinate development and execution of a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
  • Review and direct revision of administrative procedures and systems to address new business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure staff competencies meet the hospital's business standards through performance evaluation.
  • Implement workflows and internal policies to maximize facility use for patient care needs.
  • Monitor metrics for improvements in operational areas.
  • Direct the preparation of budgets for personnel, supplies, and equipment for all divisions within inpatient operations.
  • Maintain cost awareness in the administration of expenditures for all divisions.
  • Oversee the utilization of appropriate progressive disciplinary action for staff performance issues.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs and Quality Management to ensure adherence to accreditation standards and regulations.
  • Review and revise command center and emergency management practices as necessary.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and ensure dissemination of pertinent information to staff.
  • Provide Leadership with necessary monitoring reports.
  • Plan and conduct training programs to maintain staff proficiency in new or revised processes.
  • Participate in recruitment and retention processes in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital standards and professional conduct requirements.
  • Develop personal industry knowledge and professional skills through training and educational conferences.
  • Represent Leadership at meetings and system-wide initiatives as necessary.
  • Oversee all construction projects to ensure timely completion on budget.
  • Handle emergency and special problems, providing consultation and technical assistance to staff.
  • Review and manage the process flow of the department's call center and work orders.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly departmental reports for Executive Management.
  • Develop special projects as needed, including planning and budgeting.
  • Coordinate efforts with Departmental Managers and Directors on mutual concerns.
