About The Position

The Point72 Valuation team manages the valuation of all investments across the firm’s extensive hedge fund, private equity, and venture capital portfolios. The team’s investment valuation coverage ranges from exchange traded products to derivatives traded in OTC markets, to venture capital and private equity. The Valuation team provides valuations and P&L for investments for stakeholders across the firm, including Senior Management, portfolio managers/deal teams, Risk Management, and investor reporting. As the Equity Valuation and P&L Reporting Associate, you will have a central view within the Point72 hedge fund, with exposure to Front Office, Risk, Operations, Finance, and Technology teams.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience with valuation and/or P&L reporting in a product control function
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Comfortable working with large data sets, Excel macros, and VBA
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong personal ownership, attention to detail, and a self-starter mindset
  • Ability to work under consistent timelines, as well as dynamically to address ad-hoc inquiries and projects
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards

Responsibilities

  • Manage the real-time and end-of-day valuation process for publicly traded equities, futures, and options in the firm’s front and back-office systems
  • Act as the point of contact for traders and portfolio managers to quickly resolve intra-day pricing issues
  • Prepare daily firmwide performance reporting for senior management to inform firm strategy and investment decision making
  • Perform independent price-testing of the hedge fund’s investments for the monthly close process
  • Maintain reporting of external fund investment valuation, P&L, and performance
  • Identify opportunities for valuation and P&L reporting workflow improvements, partnering with our Technology, Operations, Compliance, and Risk teams to drive results
