About The Position

Wells Fargo's Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) provides banking, capital markets, and advisory solutions, including sales, trading, and research, to corporate, government, and institutional clients. The Markets division offers solutions for managing exposure through various derivatives, lending, and cash products. This role is for an Equity Research Associate specializing in Large Cap Internet. The primary responsibility involves conducting fundamental equity research to deliver differentiated industry and stock-specific content, including financial forecasts and stock recommendations for institutional investors. The Associate will communicate research findings to both internal stakeholders and clients, and build strong relationships across various internal teams such as Equity Research, Equity Sales, Cash Trading, Derivatives, and Wealth Management.

Requirements

2+ years of Securities Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

A BS/BA or higher
Direct experience within the industry or equity research industry specific sector - Large Cap Internet
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including high level of proficiency in modeling
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
Strong writing skills and attention to detail
Knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis
Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles in the capital markets industry
Knowledge and understanding of investment tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet application
Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

Conduct the fundamental equity research process for the purpose of providing differentiated industry and stock-specific content, including building and maintaining financial forecasts and stock recommendations for our institutional investor client base
Communicate research findings to both internal stakeholders and our institutional investor client base via consistent dialogue
Build strong relationships not only with Equity Research colleagues, but also with Equity Sales, Cash Trading, Derivatives, Wealth Management, and others
Demonstrate subject matter knowledge within the Large Cap Internet and a strong understanding of the companies within the sector
Conduct rigorous analysis of financial statements and industry, company, and market data sets
Create and update financial models and databases
Author, with Senior Analyst, differentiated research content on companies and industry themes
Attend company and industry events; cultivate relationships with covered companies and industry contacts
Communicate research conclusions to internal and external constituents
Collaborate with research peers to support the generation of cross-sector research content
Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
