About The Position
The Associate Equity Research Analyst position at Morningstar is a full-time role based in Chicago, IL, within the Research group, which is renowned for providing independent analysis on a wide array of investment offerings, including stocks, mutual funds, and other financial vehicles. Morningstar is recognized as one of the largest independent sources of fund, equity, and credit data and research globally, advocating for investors' interests as the foundation of its operations. The Equity Research team is seeking a highly motivated individual to facilitate coverage of stocks within a sector team, contributing to topical and thematic research while assisting with the coverage of various firms in the sector. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside industry experts and engage in intellectually challenging career paths. As an Associate Equity Research Analyst, you will assist sector analysts in constructing long-term, well-substantiated research. Your responsibilities will include gathering and interpreting industry data to contribute to long-term forecasts, writing notes for a sophisticated client base, and analyzing the implications of fundamental industry developments. You will also contribute to research materials on your team's coverage lists, stay updated on industry news to understand sector drivers, and ensure that your output remains error-free. Additionally, you will become an expert in Morningstar's Economic Moat research methodology and proactively seek information to deepen your understanding of the sector and associated industries. The role requires an independent mindset and a commitment to an “investors first” attitude at all times.
