About The Position

Provides cleaning and sanitizing services to support a safe, clean and welcoming environment. Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, offices, clinics, clinical and procedural areas, and public spaces. Supports patient safety through consistent and high-quality service. Demonstrates ability to support the cleaning and disinfection of high-acuity clinical and procedural areas. Applies disinfection protocols and utilizes approved cleaning tools in accordance with infection control standards and hospital policy. Conducts hazardous and biohazardous waste removal in compliance with safety regulations and infection prevention protocols. Proactively communicates and collaborates with clinical teams to ensure cleaning processes support patient safety and care flow.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
  • No previous experience required.
  • Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
  • Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to operate light floor equipment for cleaning floors in patient care areas.
  • Requires the ability to climb ladders.
  • Requires the ability to clean areas that require technical cleaning including IR/Cardiac Cath/Mother-Baby/NICU/OR/ED.
