About The Position

This entry-level engineering position supports capital projects through planning, analysis, and reporting activities related to the design and construction of new assets. Under guidance from senior engineers and project managers, the engineer will assist throughout the project lifecycle, including scope development, estimating, procurement support, construction coordination, and project close-out documentation. This role provides hands-on exposure to growth projects while developing technical and project management skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or foreign equivalent.
  • This is an entry level position and requires 0-3 years of relevant job-related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or related field)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and take direction while growing technical and project management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to work in both office and field environments as needed
  • Domestic travel: 25%25 domestic travel to project sites required.

Responsibilities

  • Support capital projects by assisting with plans, specifications, and technical analysis related to the design and construction of new assets
  • Assist with various phases of the project lifecycle, including scope and design development, cost estimating, funding requests, procurement support, execution, and close-out documentation
  • Help track project scope, budget, and schedule for assigned projects under supervision
  • Prepare and support budget documentation and materials for internal review
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering design, project controls, operations, environmental, ROW, legal, and supply chain
  • Support construction and inspection activities by working with field teams and contractors
  • Assist with project reporting, including cost, schedule, and progress updates for stakeholders
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and site visits as needed
  • Support business development efforts by assisting with reports, estimates, studies, and presentation materials
  • Help ensure projects comply with company engineering standards, safety requirements, and applicable codes
  • Assist in coordinating activities with internal teams, vendors, and contractors
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including lessons learned, training, and process updates
  • Manage assigned tasks across multiple projects with guidance from senior staff
  • Attend department meetings and assist with weekly project status updates
