About The Position

The Associate Engineer - Treatment is to participate in our Water/Wastewater Treatment group. Expertise is desired in planning and design of water and/or wastewater treatment and recycled water systems. This role will contribute to the development of the firm's Treatment practice and have client involvement. This is a mid-level position. Other duties include: Preparing plans, specifications, calculations, equipment evaluations, preliminary layouts and technical reports for water and/or wastewater treatment and recycled water system projects. Deciding on the most appropriate engineering techniques and sequences of activities for each project stage, with input from project managers. Completing evaluations of water quality data for treatment facilities. Developing technical writing and correspondence including preparation of technical memoranda, preliminary design reports, master plans and other reports related to the planning and design of treatment systems. Making estimates for timescales and costs ensuring plans meet the client's specifications. Assisting senior-level engineers with the preparation of proposals. Coordinating project assignments with other EITs, engineers and technicians on the project team. Researching regulatory, legislative, or code issues with City, County, and State agencies. Attending meetings and interacting with clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of design of water and/or wastewater treatment plants and recycled water systems.
  • Positive and clear written and verbal communication practices are essential for success in this position.
