Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineer System Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL. The candidate will be expected to apply their expertise in system architecture development, defining key capabilities and performance requirements.

  • Define system architectures
  • Develop architecture, CONOPS, and use cases using model-based systems engineering methodologies
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Execute trade studies to select from among multiple potential solutions
  • Perform systems requirements analysis
  • Manage requirements, including decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master’s of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience
  • Must have an active Interim DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 2 years of engineering-related experience, OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of engineering-related experience
  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering, with experience using Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Applied knowledge of aircraft design
  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment
  • Experience with Cameo MagicDraw or another MBSE tool such as Rhapsody, Sparx EA, or Enterprise Architect
  • Experience developing various DODAF view artifacts, especially operational and functional viewpoints, using MBSE tools like Cameo
