The Associate Site Reliability Engineer (ASRE) will work alongside experienced SREs, learning to operate highly available systems in AWS while contributing to the reliability of our value streams.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in systems administration, DevOps, or software engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Basic understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration
  • Familiarity with at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Bash, Go)
  • Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing)
  • Understanding of version control systems (Git)
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in SRE/DevOps practices
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or academic projects involving cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Exposure to containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts
  • AWS certifications (Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect Associate)
  • Understanding of monitoring and observability concepts

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to alerts in production environments, participating in on-call rotations with guidance from senior team members
  • Assist in incident response, documenting issues and participating in postmortems to drive continuous improvement
  • Support deployment pipelines using GitLab CI/Jenkins, learning GitOps practices and Infrastructure as Code principles
  • Help maintain Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and containerized applications, developing fundamental container orchestration skills
  • Create and maintain basic monitoring dashboards in Datadog and Splunk under supervision
  • Execute runbooks and standard operating procedures for routine operational tasks
  • Contribute to infrastructure automation using Terraform with guidance from Lead and Senior SREs
  • Learn and apply financial services compliance requirements in day-to-day work
  • Document procedures, system configurations, and incident resolutions
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand application architecture and reliability requirements
