Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Associate Industrial Engineer (Level 1) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on the exciting program at Edwards Air Force Base! The Industrial Engineering Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations here at Edwards Air Force Base. This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree with 0 years of Industrial Engineering, Project Management or Manufacturing related experience in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Exposure to EVMS (Earned Value Management System).
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
  • Ability to travel at least 10%.
  • Must be able to work any shift.

Nice To Haves

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) degree preferred.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Flight test knowledge.
  • Knowledge of SQL, VBA, Python or other programming languages.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts.
  • Establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
  • May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • Develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
  • Helps determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and provides finite scheduling to manufacturing cost centers and IPTs.
  • Maintains datasets and generates metrics that provide for the measurement of program & functional schedule & cost performance.
  • Develops and deploys plans that ensure the timely availability and effective utilization of labor, facilities, equipment, & tooling resources enabling the achievement of program delivery and cost milestones.
  • Develops and summarizes analyses for the acquisition, maintenance & enhancement of capital assets and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Plans plant, office, and production facilities and equipment layouts.
  • Provides capacity planning and rate tool analyses.
