The Associate Data Engineer supports the build of infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Azure, and AWS 'big data' technologies. The Associate Data Engineer is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing components for internal process improvements such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.

  • Create and maintain system components of data pipeline architecture, visualization, and analytical tools based on management guidance.
  • Assemble data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.
  • Build components of analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
  • Support team leadership to work with stakeholder teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Create data tools components for analytics and data science team members.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
  • High School Diploma/GED (Required).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience (Preferred).
  • Less than 2 years of Data Engineering experience.
  • Required experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience in languages such as SQL, DAX, Python, Java, Scala, and/or Go.
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases (Required).
  • Experience designing and building self-service analytics and big data solutions using cloud technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure EventHub/Kafka, Azure Data Factory, Snowpipe, AWS Glue, etc) (Preferred).
  • Ability to manage work across multiple projects, good organizational skills (Preferred).
