About The Position

The position involves contributing to the global business strategy for Energy Trading, particularly in North American Natural Gas, and leading the implementation of this strategy within the team. The role requires identifying opportunities for Energy Trading and ensuring adherence to internal and external regulations, including compliance with anti-money laundering policies. As a senior trader, the candidate will also be responsible for the ongoing training and development of team members, ensuring they are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles. The candidate will need to demonstrate a full understanding of the risk and control environment and lead by example to build a positive culture within the team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in Energy Trading or related field.
  • Strong understanding of financial mathematics and market risk.
  • Experience in trading and risk management.

  • Knowledge of the wider business, economic and market environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute towards the global business strategy for Energy Trading to drive growth aligned to the group.
  • Lead the implementation of the strategy within the team.
  • Identify opportunities for Energy Trading, specifically in North American Natural Gas and client segments.
  • Ensure adherence to all internal and external regulations.
  • Highlight any need to update procedures and controls as a result of changes in products, systems, policy or regulations.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
  • Ensure ongoing training and development of people.
  • Contribute to skills development of team members and colleagues.
  • Comply with the risk management processes in place.
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
