About The Position

The New York and Washington, D.C. offices of McDermott, Will & Schulte seek a 3rd - 5th year Associate with a Project Finance background to join its Energy Advisory group. McDermott advises industry-leading clients on some of the largest, highest-profile and most complex renewable energy project financing transactions around the globe. Our 40+ lawyer renewable energy team is routinely selected by global market leaders to create innovative structures, to mitigate risk and to create business opportunities in a complex and dynamic energy sector. We represent leading project sponsors and developers, private equity funds, tax equity investors, financial institutions, independent power producers, regulated utilities, corporate power purchasers and equipment manufacturers along the entire arc of project development, construction, operation, finance and acquisition.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of project finance experience with a focus on renewable power and energy transition.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Must be admitted to practice in NY or Washington, D.C.

• Experience in drafting complex legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Draft primary deal documents including purchase and sale agreements, investment agreements (including tax equity), financing agreements, and joint venture agreements.
• Take on significant responsibility in project finance transactions involving sponsors, investors, developers, and/or lenders.
• Work effectively within a deadline-driven environment.
