About The Position

The Associate Electrical Engineer position at AtkinsRéalis involves leading and working on various electrical engineering and manufacturing facilities projects. This role is crucial for the design and implementation of electrical systems in industrial, biotech, pharmaceutical, and food sectors, requiring collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines. The position offers flexibility in work arrangements, including in-office, hybrid, and remote options.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent 4-year degree.
  • 3-5 years of electrical design experience using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation, design, modification, coordination, and/or review of electrical systems under the direction of the Electrical Engineering Manager.
  • Prepare electrical system concepts for industrial, biotech, pharmaceutical, and food facilities.
  • Prepare calculations for electrical loads.
  • Prepare single line diagrams for power distribution.
  • Prepare lighting calculations.
  • Prepare layouts for miscellaneous systems such as fire alarm, communication, and security systems.
  • Coordinate lighting systems with architects.
  • Coordinate electrical requirements of HVAC and plumbing equipment with mechanical engineers.
  • Coordinate electrical requirements of process equipment with process engineers.
  • Review progress of construction in the field.
  • Participate in commissioning of systems.
