About The Position

The Associate Electrical Engineer position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively in a project team environment focused on the detailed electrical design and project management of high voltage substation projects. The role involves active participation in project conceptualization, work planning, and execution, addressing a variety of electrical engineering challenges, and preparing technical reports that meet client requirements. This position also emphasizes career development through peer-learning and offers a hybrid work arrangement with flexibility in remote work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 1 or more years of experience in the power or electric utility industry.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years of experience in the design of substations 138kV and above.
  • Ability to prepare substation grounding calculations and other related calculations.
  • Experience with physical layout and protection & controls.
  • Ability to work with designers to develop various substation diagrams.
  • Familiarity with ANSI/IEEE/NEMA standards related to substation design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project conceptualization and work planning.
  • Execute project tasks related to high voltage substation design.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot electrical engineering issues.
  • Prepare technical reports that meet client requirements and S&L formats.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and designers in a project team environment.
  • Engage in peer-learning and knowledge sharing within the company.
