The Associate Educator - Behavior Resource at Transition Plus is responsible for assisting students in educational programs and assignments under the supervision of teachers. This role involves providing support in classroom management, reinforcing positive behavior, and facilitating a safe and productive learning environment. The educator will also engage in various school programs and community services to support the educational goals of Minneapolis Public Schools.

  • Assist students with educational programs and special assignments.
  • Support teachers in managing classroom materials and student behavior.
  • Reinforce classroom learning and improve personal skills for students.
  • Administer various school programs and student services.
  • Monitor and supervise student activities, promoting respect and diversity.
  • Assist students in achieving learning objectives through individual and small group sessions.
  • Record data for academic and behavioral assessments and maintain student progress files.
  • Communicate with parents, students, and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Provide general office and administrative support for assigned programs.
  • Promote the Superintendent's goals and priorities in compliance with policies.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate's degree or completion of 90 quarter or 60 semester college credits in Education, Child Development, or related field
  • Two years of professional experience working with children
  • Paraprofessional Certification or passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
