About the Role Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Application Services, the Associate Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the design, implementation, and evolution of enterprise business applications. This position oversees application strategy, development, and integration while fostering collaboration across departments and campuses to ensure technology investments support long-term business objectives. You'll lead a talented team of developers and analysts to deliver high-quality, secure, and reliable software solutions that empower users, improve workflows, and support mission-critical operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of progressive IT management experience, including application leadership roles.
  • Proven success managing and mentoring technical teams.
  • Experience overseeing ERP systems and large-scale business applications.
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, CMMC frameworks preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into actionable technology solutions.
  • Experience with vendor management and budget oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy Guide the strategic direction for enterprise applications to ensure alignment with business goals and IT strategy.
  • Collaborate with executive and functional leaders to plan, prioritize, and deliver technology initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for technology-driven improvements.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing applications team focused on innovation, collaboration, and customer service excellence.
  • Application Development & Management Oversee the full application lifecycle ? from requirements gathering through implementation and maintenance.
  • Drive business process improvement and ensure delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure applications.
  • Evaluate existing systems and develop roadmaps for modernization and integration.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in project management, testing, and change management.
  • Systems Integration Manage enterprise data and application integration efforts, ensuring seamless information flow and consistent architecture.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and campus teams to maintain robust integration governance and API strategies.
  • Vendor & Budget Oversight Evaluate and manage software vendors, contracts, and SLAs to ensure performance and value.
  • Oversee project budgets and resource allocations to maximize efficiency and return on investment.
  • Continuous Improvement & Support Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and new technology adoption.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in enterprise applications and digital transformation.
  • Develop and maintain user support, training, and helpdesk processes to ensure a positive end-user experience.
