The position is responsible for overseeing Regional Financial Aid operations at Miami University, focusing on the design, implementation, and evaluation of financial aid awareness and financial literacy programs. The role involves coordinating strategic partnerships to improve FAFSA completion rates and managing programs that support specialized student groups. Additionally, the position includes providing targeted support, data management, and awarding processes aimed at enhancing student retention efforts while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and university policies.

  • Oversee Regional financial aid operations and evaluate processes for compliance and goal achievement.
  • Supervise, direct, and develop regional Financial Aid staff.
  • Administer regional scholarship review and awarding, monitor funds, and review student eligibility.
  • Compile and distribute scholarship reports and coordinate scholarship awarding to optimize enrollment and student success.
  • Ensure compliance in verification and financial aid form submissions and adherence to federal and state guidelines.
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and evaluating financial aid awareness and financial literacy programming.
  • Increase FAFSA completion rates at Miami University and in Ohio.
  • Create partnerships with OASFAA, other universities, and external partners.
  • Work with specialized groups of students to enhance retention efforts and manage data and awarding of microgrants.
  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 2 years of experience in financial aid, financial literacy, bursar, or related areas; OR Associate's Degree with at least 4 years of experience; OR 6 years of experience in financial aid or related areas.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal financial aid regulations (preferred).
  • 3 years of supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Experience with ERP and computer systems (preferred).
  • Master's degree and at least 5 years of experience in financial aid or related area (preferred).
