About The Position

Reporting to the Executive Director, North America Supply Chain Management, the Associate Director, Warehousing is responsible for our manufacturing division activities through West Point, PA Building 56 & 51. Scope covers receiving, storage, distribution, planning and shipping of finished goods, in-process materials and sample products manufactured by our internal and external manufacturing partners. Material is received from internal and external manufacturing sites, and sent to order fulfillment centers, select customers, or other domestic and international manufacturing and packaging sites. This position oversees a staff of over 20 employees across a shift and a half. Primary activities include, but are not limited to: Manages directly and/or through subordinates all activities associated with providing customer order service through distribution to Order Fulfillment Centers, Our Manufacturing Division Domestic and International sites, customers, federal and state health agencies, etc., in accordance with service requirements. Responsible for developing and recommending annual objectives and profit plan for the Distribution Center. Make recommendations and as appropriate, implement improvements in policies and procedures for storage materials handling and warehousing and keep abreast of new equipment and technological developments in areas associated with operations being directed. Assures that necessary maintenance is performed on the warehouse, high rise storage equipment, material handling equipment and other miscellaneous equipment associated with the operations. Ensures team receives appropriate programs to develop technical and managerial skills, thereby stimulating personal growth and development of subordinates. Develops and maintains training programs for non-exempt personnel. Establishes and maintains working relationships with key personnel in Our Manufacturing Division Operations, Order Fulfillment Centers, Our Manufacturing Division Domestic and International, Our Research & Development Division and External Manufacturing Partners. Ensures that all functions for which they are responsible are performed in a manner consistent with all company standards of quality, safety, economy, security, housekeeping and employee relations. Administers company safety program, leverage safety system (Enabalon), take timely corrective action to prevent injury and destruction of Company property. Ensures timely and efficient performance regarding ordering, receipt and storage of shipping supplies and finished goods. Establishes policies and procedures that always ensure absolute control of released unreleased materials. Responsible for accountability, receipt, storage and physical distribution of finished goods shipped to West Point from other Our Manufacturing Division facilities and External Manufacturing Partners. Establishes reorder points and reorder quantities for all packaging supplies, such as insulated containers, coolants, corrugated packers, etc. in a manner that optimizes purchase price, carrying cost and warehouse storage space, but at the same time, ensures shipments not interrupted due to a lack of a particular supply item. Receives, inventories and warehouse these items. Ensure the area is always ready for inspection and conduct inspections with external agencies as well as internal auditors. Oversee export shipping documentation compliance. Manage Restricted Access reviews and approvals across multiple access levels and buildings; oversee compliance with TSA requirements. Ensure training compliance. Oversee daily Tier 1 with material associates and manage Daily Tier 2 meetings with managers. Maintain environmental compliance. Key KPIs to own OTIF (on-time, in-full) shipments Inventory accuracy and cycle count effectiveness Audit observations per audit and CAPA closure timeliness

Requirements

  • B.S. degree required. Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years line supervision or staff experience in warehousing operations
  • Regulatory and quality compliance experience: Deep knowledge of cGMP and GDP for commercial and clinical drug products; experience in FDA/EMA/ICH-regulated environments
  • Cold chain handling: CRT, 2–8°C, and frozen; temperature mapping, monitoring, excursion assessment, and documentation
  • Adherence to change control, deviation management, CAPA, impact and risk assessments SOP approval strong documentation discipline and audit readiness (internal, regulatory, and customer audits)
  • DSCSA serialization and traceability familiarity
  • Technical and systems skills: Proficiency with WMS/ERP (SAP)
  • Inventory control experience: FEFO/FIFO, batch/lot and expiry management, cycle counts, and reconciliation
  • Packaging qualification knowledge for ambient and temperature-controlled shipments (e.g., ISTA standards; reuse/return pack policies)
  • Shipping and trade documentation accuracy: BOL, ASN, commercial invoice, packing list, CoA attachment, and export paperwork
  • Data accuracy and master data stewardship; strong Excel skills and KPI reporting
  • Operational experience: Experience coordinating inbound/outbound flows among internal warehouses, manufacturing sites, 3PLs, and global destinations
  • Safety leadership: OSHA compliance, material handling equipment safety, near-miss reporting, and corrective actions
  • Accurate transaction processing with audit trails: receipts, put-away, picks, shipments, and inventory adjustments
  • Returns and discard handling, and label control integrity across sites and partners
  • Leadership and collaboration: Experience supervising warehouse teams and leading through influence
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with QA, Planning, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Trade/Customs, and Logistics
  • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to create training, work instructions
  • Decisive prioritization and timely escalation to meet SLAs and regulatory obligations
