About The Position

Cresset is looking for an Associate Director, Treasury Operations, to provide both accounting support and treasury management functions along with leading financial projects for our fast-growing business. This position will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain controls, increase transparency for the company’s finances, and create efficiencies. This role will have direct exposure to senior management and will support all Cresset businesses. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles, working comfortably with numbers with a high attention to detail and is a self-starter, willing to own projects and anticipate business needs. The role will report to the Controller.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (required).
  • Proven experience in the accounting field with 4+ years of experience.
  • Understanding and experience in accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Strong drive to create efficient and organized processes to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and engaged listening.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff throughout the organization.
  • Self-starter looking to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with the financial services industry, cash management functions and multi-entity organizational structure are a plus.
  • Technical accounting knowledge and curiosity to research and work with subject matter experts on technical areas.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary administrator for online banking platforms across multiple financial institutions
  • Manage user access, including onboarding new users, assigning appropriate entitlements, and timely deactivation upon role changes or departures
  • Coordinate account setup and maintenance, including submission of documentation for new account openings
  • Oversee payment infrastructure and execution
  • Set up, maintain, and govern wire and ACH templates in accordance with internal controls
  • Lead the initiation and processing of wire transfers, including high-volume distributions and ad hoc requests
  • Process remote/mobile deposits of client checks and vendor refunds
  • Issue checks for ad hoc payments, including tax payments, payroll-related items, and other miscellaneous disbursements
  • Manage cash positioning, funding, and liquidity
  • Monitor daily cash positions and ensure timely, accurate funding for recurring obligations, including payroll, weekly AP runs, and quarterly payments
  • Ensure account balances remain within FDIC insurance thresholds
  • Maintain compliance with debt covenants and internal liquidity requirements
  • Coordinate intercompany and external transfers to optimize liquidity and deploy excess cash effectively
  • Maintain accurate cash reporting, forecasting, and accounting
  • Prepare and deliver cash forecasts to management to support liquidity planning and decision-making
  • Oversee bank reconciliation processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure timely recording of all cash activity (receipts and disbursements) within accounting system (NetSuite)
  • Prepare and distribute daily and weekly cash reports to provide visibility into cash positions
  • Oversee debt and financing activity
  • Maintain debt and loan reconciliations, including amortization schedules and tracking of origination fees
  • Coordinate with external administrators and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
  • Identify and resolve cash discrepancies
  • Investigate unexpected transactions (e.g., wires, ACH debits/credits) and partner with financial institutions to resolve issues
  • Escalate material discrepancies and findings to senior leadership, including the CFO
  • Strengthen and enforce internal controls
  • Administer positive pay and other fraud prevention tools, ensuring timely review and exception resolution
  • Maintain, document, and continuously improve treasury-related internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Manage banking relationships
  • Serve as a key point of contact with banks, custodians, and other financial partners
  • Maintain strong relationships to support operational efficiency and issue resolution
  • Support audit and compliance requirements
  • Coordinate and complete cash confirmations and other treasury-related audit requests
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve treasury operations, including leveraging automation and AI-driven tools to streamline workflows, enhance reporting, and increase efficiency and accuracy across cash management processes
