The Associate Director, Sustainability Marketing & Capability Building will be responsible for developing commercial and marketing content specifically for sustainability deliverables on a site, regional, product, and divisional level. This role will act as a sustainability focal point towards CHI Commercial and Marketing functions, including Sales, Business Development, and Marketing. The successful candidate will work closely with the CHI center of applied sustainability to translate elements of Lonza CHI's sustainability strategic roadmap into clear commercial value propositions. Customer engagement is a key aspect of this role, requiring collaboration with sales, supply chain, and product management to develop communication on our sustainability efforts to customers and foster partnerships. The Associate Director will support the understanding of customers' sustainability needs and translate these into product requirements and value propositions. Additionally, the role involves leading and facilitating customer workshops or audits on sustainability, in full alignment with associated commercial colleagues and the CHI center of applied sustainability. Key opinion leadership is essential, as the Associate Director will need to stay ahead of pharma and Health & Nutrition market and technology trends in sustainability by conducting research, participating in conferences, and preparing reports. Responding to sustainability requests from the market and customers will be done in close collaboration with the CHI center of applied sustainability. The role will also contribute to commercial (business case) and technical (feasibility) assessments to drive measures for life cycle initiatives, such as emission reduction and water consumption across CHI. In terms of capability building, the Associate Director will develop and implement a training and engagement strategy in close collaboration with CHI Internal communication and HR departments. This includes developing and implementing training content and rollout roadmap to enhance organizational climate literacy, growing and expanding competencies and skills about sustainability topics of CHI employees globally and at the country level. The role will also foster CHI stakeholder engagement to drive actions on sustainability and advocate for sustainability internally and externally, raising awareness among employees, customers, advocacy groups, and industry stakeholders. Business stakeholder management is another critical responsibility, as the Associate Director will own the interface to CHI Commercial and Marketing teams on sustainability topics, driving proactive communications and supporting decision-making. The role will ensure compliance with Lonza standards and regulatory requirements, support the rollout of Lonza procedures, policies, and guidelines, and support CHI initiatives, tools, processes, and systems. Personal development and capability building will also be a focus, with the Associate Director defining personal development goals and needs and completing mandatory training and capability building programs. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
