About The Position

The Associate Director, State and Local Government Relations is responsible for managing all aspects of State and Local Government Relations for the Western Region of the U.S. This role involves high-level engagement with government officials, advocacy on various policy matters, and securing economic incentives for company expansion. The position requires collaboration with RTX facility managers and senior leadership, as well as crisis management responsibilities. The role can be performed remotely or on-site, with significant travel expected.

Requirements

• University Degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in aerospace and defense industry.
• Experience working with Congressional and State & Local Government offices.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Engage continuously with senior government officials, including governors and legislators.
• Represent the company's brand and interests with government officials.
• Advocate on matters such as tax, environmental, energy, labor, and economic policy.
• Negotiate and secure economic incentives for company expansion.
• Liaise with RTX facility managers and coordinate facility visits with officials.
• Manage crisis communications regarding job reductions and facility closures.
• Engage with RTX Corporate and BU senior leadership, including BU presidents.
• Supervise third-party consultants in several states.
• Represent the company on various business and community organizations.
