About The Position

We are seeking an Associate Director of Site Supply Chain to lead planning and operations at AstraZeneca’s manufacturing facilities in Tarzana and Santa Monica, CA. This role involves developing site operations strategies to ensure the efficient production and supply of cell therapy products, collaborating with Global Planning to support S&OP and S&OE processes. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree with 10+ years of experience or Masters Degree with 8+ years of experience
  • Expertise in developing supply chain strategies that improve capacity, inventory levels, production efficiency, and customer service levels. Certification in APICS or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of autologous cell therapy supply chain, including Make To Order and Make to Stock planning and cell therapy capacity planning.
  • Analytical, with the ability to translate data into relevant recommendations.
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Proficiency in supply chain planning and production systems, such as ERP systems, demand planning tools, slot management and inventory optimization software.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in supply chain planning, demand forecasting, inventory management, and production planning, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with specific experience in cell therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement site supply chain strategies aligned with manufacturing site operational goals, ensuring the efficient and reliable manufacture of cell therapy products to meet patient needs.
  • Lead site operations planning process at the AstraZeneca cell therapy manufacturing sites at Tarzana and Santa Monica, CA, including demand review, capacity evaluation and slot planning to ensure schedule and resource optimization.
  • Collaborate with Global Planning, Manufacturing and Operations teams to develop capacity plans that improve resource utilization and efficiency while maintaining product quality and compliance.
  • Own supply chain related change assessments for manufacturing process improvements/revisions and new product introductions.
  • Improve supply chain efficiency and resilience, implementing guidelines, process improvements, and technology solutions.
