Our shared mission—to serve patients living with serious illnesses—drives all that we do. Since 1980, we’ve helped pioneer the world of biotech in our fight against the world’s toughest diseases. With our focus on four therapeutic areas –Oncology, Inflammation, General Medicine, and Rare Disease– we reach millions of patients each year. As a member of the Amgen team, you’ll help make a lasting impact on the lives of patients as we research, manufacture, and deliver innovative medicines to help people live longer, fuller happier lives. Our award-winning culture is collaborative, innovative, and science based. If you have a passion for challenges and the opportunities that lay within them, you’ll thrive as part of the Amgen team. Join us and transform the lives of patients while transforming your career. Associate Director Scientist What you will do Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be instrumental in advancing our pipeline by driving novel strategies to characterize drug–target interactions, leveraging microphysiological models to better predict clinical outcomes, and developing next level analytical techniques to describe the system. Scientific Leadership Lead strategic initiatives focused on understanding drug–target engagement, binding kinetics, and pharmacodynamics across multiple therapeutic areas. Design and execute innovative studies using advanced microphysiological systems (e.g., organ-on-chip, 3D cell culture, bioreactor-based systems) to model human disease and drug response. Provide scientific and technical insight to describe the abundance, dynamics, engagement, and fate of drug targets. Provide analytical technical leadership across a range of platforms to address target. Cross-Functional Representation Provide guidance and scientific interpretation to project teams related to biomeasures. Translate complex scientific findings into clear, actionable strategies for non-scientific stakeholders, including senior leadership. Act as a thought leader and external representative by contributing to publications, presentations, and collaborations with academic and industry partners. Innovation & Strategy Identify and champion opportunities for emerging technologies that advance drug–target understanding and improve translational success rates. Advance the use of MPS technologies for better understanding of target biology. Contribute to long-term research strategy development, including evaluation of new therapeutic modalities and platforms. Mentorship & Team Development Provide scientific mentorship to junior scientists, fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Promote a culture of rigorous science, open communication, and cross-disciplinary teamwork. What we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.
