About The Position

The Associate Director, Bioanalytical Biomarker Category Manager will directly report into the Specialty Clinical Laboratories global category Director. This position is responsible for supporting and delivering procurement related activities in Specialty Clinical Laboratories category enabling the Research objectives for BMS sponsored clinical trials. Primary responsibilities include the following: Sourcing category management of the Bioanalytical laboratory services (inclusive but not limited to pharmacokinetic testing (pK) and immunoassay assay biomarker testing) and flexing to support cross-category strategic initiatives for the Global Procurement organization at BMS.

Requirements

• Minimum education of a B.S./B.A. in a related field area of study
• Minimum of seven (7) years of business experience, multi-disciplined procurement experience, and/or life sciences research lab-based experience
• Prior R D experience in biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and/or medical device industry
• Strong negotiation skills to develop preferred rates with BMS partners
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• Capability to lead projects/initiatives that have significant impact upon global and site business
• Proactive, creative and analytic approach to continuous improvement in delivering procurement services

Responsibilities

• Strategic business partnering with R D business units (Translational Development, Translational Research, Precision Medicine, Thematic Research Centers (TRCs), Drug Development, Global Development Operations, IT, etc.)
• Drive novel category strategies and navigate a complex internal stakeholder landscape
• Lead, teach and direct Sourcing professionals throughout the Strategic Category Management and sourcing processes
• Lead sourcing events across all categories to select preferred and approved suppliers
• Develop, maintain and implement a 3-5-year strategic plan across bioanalytical biomarker laboratory services categories
• Consolidate market, supplier, and internal business data/information to develop and implement a cohesive strategy
• Engage with R D leadership to understand their business needs
• Accountable for the delivery of critical R D agreements for strategic projects
• Support supplier risk management processes and overall supplier relationship with BMS
• Ensure accurate reporting of procurement key performance measures
• Spot market trends and innovative technologies to educate key stakeholders
• Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership
• Help roll out key end to end enablement tools/systems, processes, and templates
