About The Position

Works with the Executive Director of Protocol and Special Events to direct a program and campus outreach events of the University of Houston at the direction of the Chancellor/President; and manages the day-to-day operations of the department.

Requirements

  • Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline.
  • Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
  • Requires a minimum office (5) years of directly job-related experience.
  • Required documents resume, coversheet and 3 professional references with at least two from former/current supervisors.
  • References will be contacted only after the interviewing process has been completed.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Executive Director in creating and managing a plan of campus events.
  • Coordinates the execution of events and fund-raisers that involve protocol for the Office of the Chancellor/President.
  • Oversees office operations in the absence of the Executive Director.
  • Works with volunteers, event committees, faculty, and staff
  • Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budget analysis.
  • Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
  • Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities.
  • Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as agreed.
