About The Position

The Associate Director of Program Management is responsible for leading the execution and sustaining strategy of a commercial product portfolio within the Interventional Cardiology Therapies – Peripheral Vascular team. This role requires strong leadership in portfolio management, cross-functional collaboration, and program oversight to ensure continued value delivery to clinicians and patients. This individual will drive decision-making with key stakeholders, resolve complex issues, and deliver defined program solutions. Additionally, the Associate Director will oversee a team of project managers responsible for sustaining product initiatives across the portfolio. Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated track record in portfolio planning, people leadership, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional program execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in project management, technical leadership, or medical device industry roles
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a people leadership capacity
  • Experience across all phases of product development, including sustaining and commercialization
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely to senior leadership
  • Strategic, action-oriented thinker with a collaborative, global mindset
  • Demonstrated strength in leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and strategic influence
  • Passion for leading, mentoring, and motivating teams to achieve optimal outcomes

Nice To Haves

  • PMP or PgMP certification
  • Familiarity with Boston Scientific quality systems and processes
  • Experience with Lean business, VIP, or dVIP initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Directing and managing a team of project managers leading cross-functional initiatives that support commercialized products
  • Developing and executing business plans for the product portfolio, including operating plans, budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation
  • Aligning with the new product development organization to assess the impact of future portfolio decisions on commercial strategy
  • Building strong partnerships with functions including R&D, design assurance, regulatory, operations, process development, and marketing
  • Managing the project prioritization process across the sustaining portfolio—including initiatives related to business continuity, quality, operations, strategic programs, and VIPs
  • Collaborating with marketing leadership to align project strategy and prioritization with evolving business goals
  • Communicating program updates and implications to stakeholders across commercial, functional, and franchise leadership teams
  • Leading complex trade-off decisions regarding product requirements and understanding their business implications
  • Driving a high-performance, transparent, and collaborative culture across the team
  • Providing feedback on team dynamics and performance to functional directors
  • Leading hiring and talent development efforts to build a strong, sustainable program team
  • Ensuring alignment and consistent communication of priorities across cross-functional leaders and business partners
  • Making fact-based decisions and guiding the team through structured analysis of risks, options, and trade-offs
  • Demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and documented quality processes
  • Ensures the appropriate resourcing and tools are in place to maintain Quality System compliance
  • Promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Boston Scientific Quality System
